Description:
Our project was to examine transcripts of Poe’s writings in an effort to reach two main conclusions. First, our goal was to determine if the content and the themes of his work changed over time or if they stayed roughly the same over the course of his relatively short writing career. Second, we wanted to determine if the themes of his work reflected the hardships or triumphs that he was faced with during his life, in their relation to the time he wrote them. In addition to our findings on this topic, more content about the life and works of Poe can be found by clicking the above link and visiting our page.
This topic was very unique. I don’t think many people in this class, including myself, know much about Edgar Allen Poe. I pretty much just knew that he was a poet and wrote something about a raven. After looking through your guys’ site and reading the biography that you guys wrote about him, I got a much better understanding of who Poe was. All-in-all, this website was solid. I couldn’t find a single issue with it. Great job you guys!!
I have to admit that I am shocked that you chose Edgar Allan Poe as your project focus. Yes, Poe’s work is legendary – however, it’s still shocking. Appraising his work to discover the common themes, Poe’s life events, and any connections between his stories and his life was appropriately displayed in your final project. Out of the works you chose of Poe, I’m glad you picked “The Raven,” which – as you say – displays madness and reflects an important time in everyone’s life. Great job with your group project.
I love this topic! I really like Edgar Allen Poe’s works and I really enjoyed finally learning about him. I also really enjoyed being able to read about his other works as well. Overall I loved reading and looking through your website. Good job!
I don’t know much about Edgar Allen Poe, but your project has helped me understand his work and life. This seemed interesting since his writings are well known and influential to modern writing and the media.
This project really came together well. Congratulations! There is so much rich detail in your writing and in your timeline and text analysis. The raven favicon is a wonderful little detail.
